Arthritis is the number one reason a person over the age of 65 visits their family physician. Early detection and diagnosis of arthritis is critical to reduce pain and prevent irreversible damage to the joints.

To assist primary care professionals with the diagnosis and management of arthritis, and in discussing arthritis with their patients, the program’s co-leaders, Arthritis Consumer Experts (ACE) and the Arthritis Research Centre of Canada (ARC) have developed a number of resources to assist healthcare professionals to better detect, treat and manage arthritis.

ArthritisID PRO is a free app for healthcare professionals to help detect, treat and manage arthritis. The app features an interactive arthritis screening tool, joint exam videos and Continuing Medical Education (CME) activities (providing Mainpro® M2 Credits accredited by the College of Family Physicians of Canada [hyperlink – www.cfpc.ca]) to deliver the most current, evidence-based arthritis information when and where you want it – on your iPhone or iPod touch.

Our point-of-practice arthritis tool has been revised with the most up-to-date classification criteria for arthritis detection and diagnosis, developed by leading clinical researchers Drs. Gillian Hawker, Jolanda Cibere and John Esdaile, in consultation with the Canadian Rheumatology Association and The Arthritis Society. It is a practical tool incorporating evidence-based information to support arthritis diagnosis and management that can be used in your daily practice.
